WMT engages under-served young people using interactive education, mentoring and employment readiness activities to help them build their self-esteem, develop leadership skills and strengthen ties to family and community.

WMT uses a combination of mentoring and coaching to help youth be their own advocates; as well as serve their community.

  • Group Mentoring – Workshops centering on: Life Skills; Conflict Management; Job Readiness; College Preparation; and Self-Esteem.
  • One-on-One Mentoring – Volunteer mentors work directly with youth to build academic and social skills.
  • Peer Mentoring – Peer mentors serve as positive role models, providing support, encouragement, homework assistance and information to other youth.
  • Family Engagement – Fostering healthy family relations by developing good communication skills, and promoting parental involvement.
